Successfully investigated and assisted the prosecution of numerous complex criminal cases in the areas of export laws, transnational gangs, alien smuggling, narcotics, money laundering, document and immigration benefit fraud, and other federal violations
Extensive experience testifying in Federal and State courts
Participated as the DHS Case Agent in more than ten federal trials
Routinely prepared detailed reports of investigation, search/arrest warrant affidavits, FISA applications, and prosecution reports
Conducted and supervised numerous sensitive national security/counter-terrorism investigations as the first-line supervisor of agents assigned to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF)
As part of the JTTF, participated as a member of the security team for major events such as the 2004 G-8 Summit held in Sea Island, Georgia
Developed strategies to proactively target smuggling by aircraft which directly led to an increase in narcotics seizures and export violations
Coordinated the creation of an undercover unit specifically focused on import and export violations
Provided bi-annual training and consulting to the Center for International Trade and Security at the University of Georgia in coordination with the US Department of State
Trained defense contractors, educational institutions, importers, and customs brokers on export laws and intellectual property rights
